NTYE has just successfully completed their first Saturday School.

37 Students from 3 different schools took part in an intense fast track Young Entrepreneurs Programme over 5 Saturdays.

The Programme commenced on Saturday 7th January with students from St Joseph’s College, Norbury Manor and Charter School.  The event was held in the Business & Enterprise Building at Norbury Manor Business & Enterprise College in Thornton Heath.

The students participated in a series of interactive workshops and business master classes and worked in teams to identify and develop a plan for a new business venture. Even with the bitterly cold temperatures [and snow] all 37 students showed great determination and motivation to attend each of the five Saturdays and worked a full business day from 8.30am to 5.00pm. Also all students took great pride in their appearance  [suitably ‘suited and booted’]  and very much looked the part of
young business professionals.

“I enjoyed the master classes as they were very informative and taught me things I can use outside the programme.  I also enjoyed the more physical activities like the balloon animal, egg challenge and the shipwreck”
Congratulations to the members of Flawless Ltd
who won the Saturday School Business Competition.

“I enjoyed how they were able to teach us key presentation skills and be able to mix us in groups with people we don’t know.    It was good creating a product/service that everyone had a major part in and be able to get involved.  Every Saturday was productive and enjoyable”

There were 7 business teams all led by a strong passionate CEO with each team member playing a crucial role to ensure the business ran successfully.

8 volunteer student mentors who had attended previous NTYE programmes in 2011 ably supported the Saturday programme. Thank you for all your hard work, support and commitment to the event.

The Mentors were from Coulsdon College and Norbury Manor Business & Enterprise College.

"The programme boosts confidence, shows them how business works, helps them to work together and helps with their  presentation skills.  It gives you hope and confidence in our young people"
